For Better Listening, Thinking, Speaking

Toastmasters is the best way to improve your communication skills. Toastmasters can help you lose the fear of public speaking and learn skills that will help you be more successful in whatever path you've chosen. You'll be a better listener. In Toastmasters, you will enhance them. Many Toastmasters clubs are on the go throughout the world.

Now in Kyoto, Toastmasters International Kyoto Toastmasters Club was organized in December 2000 and was chartered on March 6, 2001. (#7816-76) The Club aims at a bilingual Toastmasters club in English and Japanese.

The Toastmasters International is a non profit worldwide organization in California, US approved by the US Federal Government and more than 200,000 Toastmasters are learning Toastmastering at approximately 10,000 Toastmasters clubs throughout the world.

In U.S. and Canada corporate Toastmasters clubs are common while almost 100 percents of the clubs in Japan are community clubs like Kyoto or Tokyo Toastmasters Club. Their sponsors in US are as follows:

The federal, state, and municipal governments and agencies, Senate, NASA, Navy and Army, colleges and universities, and firms like IBM, Microsoft Corp., Apple Computer, Bank of America, ATT&T, Boeing, Ford, GM, Xerox, Exxon, Shell Oil, Mobil Oil , CocaCola Co. etc. (click)

The Toastmasters Educational Program:

The educational program is the heart of a Toastmasters Club. It is the means through which you develop your communication and leadership skills and achieve your goal of becoming a better communicator.

The Toastmasters educational program is divided into two tracks -- a communication track and a leadership track. The communication track is the major part of the system -- almost all new members join Toastmasters for the benefits this track offers. Some become involved in the leadership track. The tracks are not mutually exclusive. You may participate in both tracks at the same time if you wish. (click)aft
