Speak-up Toastmasters Club (#7283-76) was organized in the City of Osaka, Japan as the first "Advanced Toastmasters Club" in Western Japan and the second one in Japan to develop future leaders for Toastmasters in District 76. The Club was successfully chartered on October 2, 2002. It provides its members with opportunities to practice speeches based on the Advanced Communication & Leadership Program (link) of the Toastmasters International more effectively and instructively in a relaxed atmosphere.

We meet every 4th Sunday basically at a meeting room in Nishinomiya-shi DAIGAKU KOURYU Center in ACTA East-Tower located very close to Hankyu Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi Station in Nishimomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture.

Special Features of Speak-up Toastmasters Club

Speak-up Toastmasters Club provides members with opportunities to practice the following subjects:

a. High Performance Leadership (HPL) Program (click) to be held prior to regular meetings.

* HPL Program Guidance Committee meetings are open to any Toastmasters outside Speak-up Club.

(Typical Meeting Format)

- 5 minute talk on a current topic by a Speaker

- Debate Session by two Debaters
- Prepared Advanced Speeches Session by Speakers
- Evaluation Session

1. Evaluation by Evaluators for each prepared speech based on the Advanced Programs

2. Discussion for further improvements chaired by General Evaluator

3. General comments by General Evaluator

- Review for improvements & instructions for development by an experienced Toastmaster

Introduction of New Members:

Mr. Toshiaki Oshimura, CTM, a member of Osaka Toastmasters Club, joined the club in July 2007.

What's New:

High Performance Leadership (HPL) Guidance Committee No. 9 (Leader: Ludlow Gibbons) completed their job in March 2007. As of March 25, the 10 leaders complerted the HPL program.
